Twitter Spins Off
Twitter has become its own company. This is incredible, because Evan Williams, the founder, also founded Blogger.. Both simple tools, easy to use, good for connecting people.
I love Twitter. In the beginning, I didn’t understand why I loved it so much or what it was really good for, but now I do. Two examples: my daughter is on it, and sometimes when she’s too busy to call me, she will Twitter what she’s done or is doing. Thus, I know she’s alive and well.
The second example is more rich and complex. When I was a kid, our family doctor was a man named Dave Markman (Dr. Dave). My dad had a heart condition, and many Saturdays, he went to see Dr. Dave, and I went with him (the only time I spent time with him). This was in New York City. It was fun. Dr. Dave often has his children, Judy and Michael, in the office. I played with them while I waited for my father. And guess what? I have found Michael Markman on Twitter, where he shares insights as I do. Through Twitter, I found his blog. After fifty years, we have found each other. I find this a reeeeeallly long tail.
